A PROMISE FULFILLED
On December 31, 1972, Mr. Roberto Clemente died in a plane crash while attempting to deliver the last 16,000 pounds of aid he promised to the earthquake victims of Nicaragua. The goal of "The Flight for Humanity" is to teach our youth the value of making and keeping commitments by completing Mr. Clemente's last promise. On December 31, 2005, 33 years after Mr. Clemente's death, we did just that when we delivered 16,324 pounds of aid to Nicaragua. Your donations enabled us to pay Mr. Clemente this ultimate tribute. Now we need your help to finish paying for the trip to Nicaragua, to continue to develop our school programs that teach our youth Mr. Clemente's values, to give recognition to corporations and individuals who do good deeds, and to deliver aid where it is needed.
